Chandigarh, September 21:- A delegation of 50 councilors & 5 senior officers from Nizamabad Municipal Corporation, Telangana led by Smt. Akula Sujatha, Mayor visited Chandigarh today. The delegation was welcomed by Sh. Arun Sood, Mayor of Chandigarh.
Sh. B. Purushartha, IAS, Commissioner made a detailed presentation regarding various developmental projects of MC including water supply system, sewerage disposal system, sanitation system and beautification of the city.
The team was on its study tour to study local administration, various reforms undertaken in Chandigarh and major projects of Municipal Corporation Chandigarh. The visited water works, sector 39 and got information regarding water supply system in Chandigarh.
The delegation also took round of city roads and big parks including Rose Garden, Sector 16, Japanese Garden, Sector 31, Fragrance Garden, Sector 36, Terraced Garden, Sector 33 and visited Sewerage Treatment Plant at 3 BRD.
Smt. Akula Sujatha, Mayor of Nizamabad Municipal Corporation appreciated the projects under the management of Municipal Corporation Chandigarh and lauded the maintenance of Green parks, green belts and neat and clean roads of city.
She also requested the Mayor Sh. Arun Sood and Sh. B. Purushartha, IAS, Commissioner to plan a visit to Nizamabad alongwith the other councilors and officers of MC, Chandigarh. Sh. Surinder Bagah, Councillor and Sh. N.P. Sharma, Chief Engineer, MC, Chandigarh were also present during the occasion.
