PATIALA, September 2: Punjabi diaspora based in the European countries like Italy and Germany was looking forward to Capt Amarinder Singh to lead Punjab back to glory and prosperity. This was told to the visiting senior party leader and former union minister of state for External Affairs and Patiala MLA, Ms Preneet Kaur at Berlin last night.

Ms Kaur was extended a red-carpet welcome on her arrival at Berlin by the leading lights of the Punjabi community settled there. She met a large number of Punjabi families and sought their participation in the political process in Punjab and thereby contribute towards the all-round development of the State.

"You are lucky to have been settled abroad where you have adjusted yourself to a comfortable and disciplined life. Your relations and friends in Punjab wish to emulate you and, therefore, pay great importance to what you say to them", she reminded them.
She elaborated how the Punjab which was No.1 State in the country has slipped to No. 19 under the SAD-BJP rule. "All sections of the society in Punjab are passing through a bad phase" she informed while highlighting the plight of the farmers, small traders, big businessmen and particularly the youth that has been plagued by drugs.
Raising alarm over the prevalence of drugs in Punjab, she said, "Modi gave a slogan Beti Bachao Beti Padao; but in Punjab we have to save our sons also:  Putt Bachao" she said while referring to the prevalence of drug menace in Punjab under the police-politicial nexus. She said that Capt Amarinder Singh has sworn by the Gutka Sahib to end the vice of drugs within 4 weeks if Congress comes to power.
Referring to the sorry plight of agriculture in Punjab under the Badals, she pointed out, "It was during Capt Amarinder Singh's regime that no farmer had to spend even a single night in the Mandi  for selling his produce; it was a matter of proper planning and its execution where Badals have miserably failed".
Terming Kejriwal as inexperienced, incapable, and non-serious about the needs of Punjab and Punjabiat, she lashed out at him saying he is a man in a hurry who thinks he will befool Punjabis through publicity of his false claims about his doings in Delhi; he could not keep his 4 MPs together; while about a dozen of his MLAs are facing criminal charges. Kejriwal, like Badals, keeps on blaming Modi for his own incapabilities and failures. She warned that Punjab cannot afford any experiment lest the situation drifted and deteriorated further.
In Germany, she was joined by the leading personalities of the Indian Overseas Congress, namely, Mr Avtar Singh and Mr Harjinder Singh (Germany), Mr Daljit Sahota(UK), Mr Gurmail Singh Gill (Norway), Mr Rajwinder Singh (Switzerland) and Mr Charanjit Singh (Sweden).
