Chandigarh : “The immersion in another country, another culture, another language gives the creators opportunity to put into perspective their practices and contributes in enriching their work. This sometimes leads to unexpected collaborative ventures.
In 2014, the group Nyna Vales starts the making of their 3rd opus. That is when the idea of making an album similar to this one with rearranged versions that resulted from such peculiar and immediately distinguishable timbres of Indian instruments such as the sitar or the veena, tempura sarod and percussions but also Indian songs with its very typical accent.
The recording will take place in Chennai, city known for its music production and recording studios in India.
The aim will then be to perform the new Nyna Vales show as a trio for the Indian audience by performing a series of concerts in the state of Tamil Nadu with eventually, the presence on stage, of one or more musicians who participated in the recording or amateurs choirs, composed of students, just like the duo had done it in China during their tour in Alliance Francaises in 2012.
How did the idea come up?
It is during two trips in India, in the states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka,Jerala and Maharashtra in January 2011 and February 2012 that the duo imagines itself coming back to share their songs and their music.
India, for its culture and traditions, the state of Tamil Nadu, for its great artists like the singer Bombay Jayashree and Chennai, a city known for its various recording studios.
But, it is the real experience during their trip in China and Mongolia that ingrained their desire to make another international tour with an artistic venture in INDIA.
Apart from the 8 concerts performed in China and Mongolia, the duo was specially touched and excited by the fact that the Chinese students came up on stages during these concerts and who kept singing their songs’ choruses as a choir.
3.Nyna Vales, a French appeal:
It has already been 6 years since this duo from Nantes, in love with the words and music develops projects based on songs with uniqueness and oneness.
