Chandigarh, October 23
The Punjab Congress has dismissed as ridiculous and nonsensical the charges of AAP president Arvind Kejriwal that the Akalis were funding the Congress elections with drug money.

“There cannot be a more stupid suggestion than this. Is Kejriwal trying to say that the Akalis are funding the Congress to defeat itself in the forthcoming Assembly polls?, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) leaders Ravneet Singh Bittu, Sukhwinder Singh Majithia and Bharat Bhushan Ashu said in a statement issued here.

The Congress is the most vocal opponent of the Akalis on the drugs issue and the idea of it taking drug money from the Badal government for its election campaign is ludicrous to the extreme, the PPCC leaders said.

“Only an intellectually bankrupt person can even contemplate such a thing,” said the PPCC leaders, adding that Kejriwal was known to come up with the stupidest of statements in order to grab media headlines.

This kind of drivel can only come out of the pea-sized brain that Kejriwal clearly has, said the PPCC leaders, adding that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader was totally bereft of any issues for the coming elections and was thus resorting to all kinds of idiotic schemes to divert the people of Punjab from the real problems facing them.

Such statements are typical of Kejriwal, who continues to put his foot into his mouth without forethought or foresight of the implications. “There cannot be a more immature and senseless political leader ever to have set foot on Punjab’s soil,” said the Punjab Congress leaders.

The whole idea of a nexus between the Congress and the Akalis, which the AAP leader seems to be so fond of touting, is absurd to the point of being unworthy of consideration by even the most dim-witted person on this Earth, the PPCC leaders added.
