Chandigarh, 29^th May 2017: Raising the bar of entertainment on the channel starting early in the evening, COLORS has added a new flavour to its bouquet of offerings with hospital drama, Savitri Devi College and Hospital. The show narrates the story of a young medical intern, Saachi Mishra (Swardha Thigale) who strives to fulfil her mother Jaya’s (Shilpa Shirodkar) dream of becoming a doctor. She joins Savitri Devi College and Hospital owned by Dr. Anand Malhotra (Mohan Kapur) whose past is directly connected to Jaya and Saachi’s lives.

Produced by National-award winning producer Rashmi Sharma of Rashmi Sharma Telefilms Ltd, Savitri Devi College and Hospital is an hour-long show which airs every Monday to Friday at 6:00 pm on COLORS.

Speaking about portraying the character of Dr. Anand Malhotra, Mohan Kapur said, “Savitri Devi College and Hospital is a fresh show where the hospital is a character in itself that has witnessed many a secret

directly affecting the lives of other characters. My character is of a business minded doctor, Anand Malhotra, who keeps his and his hospital's reputation extremely guarded. Being in Chandigarh today has been a wonderful experience and am looking forward to indulging in the yummy food that Chandigarh is famous for!”

Speaking about her character as Neeta Malhotra, Kishwer Merchant said, “Neeta Malhotra is an under-qualified nutritionist whose confidence ensures that no one messes with her. She wants her husband to be the Chairman at Savitri Devi College and Hospital, but doesn’t know how to overthrow Dr. Anand Malhotra’s influence. Coming to Chandigarh is like coming home to me; it’s my sasural and I love the city. The people of Chandigarh have always loved me and I hope they will appreciate me as Neeta Malhotra on the show.”

In its launch week, viewers of Savitri Devi College and Hospital have seen an elated Jaya (Shilpa Shirodkar) celebrating Saachi’s (Swarda Thigale) scores, realizing that her dreams of seeing her daughter work at the hospital are coming true. However, her happiness is short-lived because Dr. Anand Malhotra (Mohan Kapur), seeing Saachi’s name on the list, strikes it off. A disheartened Saachi decides to step into the shoes of another Saachi on the list, Saachi Agarwal. As the story unfolds, we will see how Saachi struggles to guard her identity and manages to seep through the scrutiny of Dr. Anand Malhotra. How long will Saachi be able to deceive everyone till she fulfils her mother’s dream?
