1.    Chandigarh, June 8-   I M Vijayan said OOrja is excellent platform for budding footballers and we hope best talent of OOrja would be find place in  Indian team   .  According Sh Arvind Kumar IPS, IG NW Ftr ITBP, in the run up to FIFA U-17 World Cup, being hosted by India (for the first time) in the month of October this year, with an aim to create fervour for football among the youth and select best players for Indian Team, Central Armed Police Forces are organising Nation-Wide ‘OOrja CAPF U-19 Football Talent Hunt Tournament, under the aegis of All India Police Sports Control Board (AIPSCB), wherein thousands of players and students will be involved.
2.   The three-month tournament is being organised in three phases and the mega final will be held in Delhi on July 25. The objective of the tournament is to give an opportunity to every child of the country to play football. It is a legacy programme of FIFA U-17 World Cup “Mission XI Million” which plans to take the beautiful game to at least 11 Million boys and girls around the country.
3.   HQ North West frontier ITBPF has been entrusted with the responsibility of organising phase-1 and phase-2 tournament both. Phase-1 of the tournament was organised by ITBP Chandigarh in association with Sports Dept. Football Association, and Dept of Education (s) Chandigarh w.e.f. 01 to 10 May, wherein total 16 Under-19 teams of Chandigarh, 08 boys and 8 girls had participated.  Besides impressive trophies, the Winner, Runner Up and Hardliners Teams of Phse -1 were given away a Total cash prize worth Rs 2 lakhs (01 lakh each for boys and girls team). In addition, best players of phase-1 were selected to represent ITBP Chandigarh team in phase -2.
4.   Now, in the month of June, Phase-2 of the tournament is being organised. It is an inter-state competition, wherein, state wise selected teams of CAPFs will compete for the Title and the winner team will qualify for the Phase-3. In this series North West Ftr ITBP Chandigarh will organise matches between 12 teams (six boys and six girls) of 06 states, namely, Uttrakhand, Rajasthan, Delhi, Punjab Haryana and Chandigarh, w.e.f. 08 June 2017 to 14 June 2017.

5.    Closing ceremony of the tournament will be held at the stadium of sector -17, on  14 June 2017.  Sh VP Singh Bandore Hon’ble Governer of Punjab and administrator Chandigarh, have consented to be the Chief Guests for the  closing ceremony . The matches of girl teams will be played at the stadium of Sector -42 from at 7 AM and 5 PM and of boys’ team at sector -17 at 8 AM and 5 PM.
6.   All the players participating in the tournament are being provided free accommodation, free food, conveyance charges for To and Fro journey from their respective home states to Chandigarh daily refreshment and complete football kit comprising of shorts, jersey, stockings, Shin guard, shoe kit head band, kit bag, sipper etc. The Winner, Runner Up and Hardliners Teams of Phase -2 were given away a Total cash prize worth Rs 4 lakhs (02 lakh each for boys and girls team). In addition, the winner team will qualify for phase-3
7.   Considering, the objective & scope of the tournament, This Phase-2 of ‘OOrja: CAPFs U-19 Football Talent Hunt Tournament, is likely to remain in the focus of Sports Ministry, MHA, Media and the entire country, which will make it most important sporting event of the year.
