Poshan Pakhwada 2021



A dietician Ms Anupreksha Rastogi was invite by the NSS Unit of the Government College of Education, Chandigarh as a part of the ongoing activities on the POSHAN PAKHWADA 2021 drive of the Government of India and much reinforced by the NSS units of the Education Department Chandigarh. The one hour webinar was based on the topic ‘Breakfast Power-Be a Pro.’ The webinar was opened by Dr. Ravneet Chawla (Associate Professor and NSS Programme Officer) of the college. The principal of the college, Dr. A. K. Srivastava, formally welcomed the speaker of the day who is a Visiting Diet Consultant to many hospitals. Ms. Shivangi, student coordinator, moderated the session. The highlight of the webinar was demonstrations. Dt. Anupreksha Rastogi virtually demonstrated various healthy recipes to the students using different nutritious seeds, home based improvised dairy products like hung curd a s base for sandwiches, and using sprouts and boiled things which need to big time to prepare.  Dt. Rastogi readily shared the recipes of various breakfast dishes. The interactive session was further carried on with the questions of both the students and the faculty members that further enhanced knowledge on gym like life style and eating patterns, importance of fasting and it’s precautions, ned of customizing diets than going by general rules for people with chronic health issues and allergies, and how a balanced diet can be applied to breakfast also. Ms. Gurbina Chopra and Ms. Rollania, student of B.Ed. senior batch were the repertoires and kept the session alive with shooting questions to the speaker and summarizing session in the end. Dr. Mukhtiar Singh, another Programme Officer of the NSS unit of the college applauded the suggestions of the speaker and NSS volunteers role in supporting the event in different roles. Dr. Srivastava, principal of the college appreciated the initiative and the knowledgeable interaction.
