From City Beautiful to Pink City
Chandigarh 21st April 2017 : Giving
platform to the artists of the tricity region, the Chandigarh Lalit Kala
Akademi has put together an art exhibition to be showcased in the pink city of
Jaipur. A collection of inspiring works boasting of both quality and quantity,
the exhibition shall be representative of the exuberant culture of art in the
state capital, Chandigarh. This shall be a step forward in the direction of
exposure, expansion and energy of the art scene of the city beautiful.
The
array of chosen artists, featured in the exhibition, is both known and unknown
names of the art world. Many of them have studied at the Government College of
Art, Chandigarh and have had their works displayed in cities like Delhi,
Kolkata, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Ahemdabad. Award- winning artists have also
been chosen for display. Famous names such as Satwant Singh, Diwan Manna, Raj
Kumar and Balwinder Singh have their works as part of the exhibit.
On
the other hand, young, unknown artists, whose work remains unseen beyond their
immediate periphery due to lack of good organizers and appreciators, also find
space in the exhibition. Many new names such as Sanchit Abhay Gupta, Shubham
Aggarwal and Sanya Bhutani shall be presenting their art works in the
exhibition.
The
Chandigarh Lalit Kala Akademi, by taking this exhibition to Jaipur is
attempting to bridge the gap between art and art appreciation. Trying to bring
art to a wider audience, the exhibition shall be a treat for the art lovers of
the pink city.
The
exhibition shall be opening on Saturday 22nd April 2017, at 5.45 pm and
shall be on view till 26 April 2017, each day from 11am to 7pm at the
Chaturdik Art Gallery, Jawahar Kala Kendra, Jaipur.
