Chandigarh,
29th July, 2016: 47 crèches
run by the Indian Council of Child Welfare (ICCW) along with the Department of
Social Welfare, Women & Child Development, Chandigarh Administration caters
to the needs of day care of children from families with working parents. These
centres take good care of the children; however they lacked access to safe and
clean drinking water.
Initiative taken by Smt. Bhawna Garg IAS, Secretary Social
Welfare, Women & Child Development, Chandigarh Administration, "Project
Neer" was launched by BPF in collaboration with Lets endorse, an online
portal in July 2016 for providing safe potable water to the crèches. The
Project has been successfully fulfilled with the support of Corporate Patrons
of Bharat Prakarsh Foundation namely Nectar Lifesciences Ltd. and Winsome
Foundation and Tata Swachh Smart Water Purifiers are being given to each
of the 47 crèches.
