Chandigarh : Chandigarh Volleyball Association today started its much awaitd Volleyball League – Chandigarh at Sector 41 Flood Lit Ground.
The 3 day event which is to be concluded on Sunday was inaugurated by Sh. Hardeep Singh Saini, Dy. Mayor Chandigarh. The League is sponsored by Market App Online, Nise Gel, Verex Group, Sportsline & One to One Brands.
CVA President Mr Ashok Khatri told that the response CVA got from the Volleyball fraternity is overwhelming. We did not expect that many teams in the inaugural season of Pro-Voleyball League. This shows that Volleyball exist in Chandigarh, the requirement is to nurture the game and the Association is dedicated for the same.
Anil Oberoi told media persons that the Pro-Volleyball Leaguewill get the desired traction among the Volleyball lovers and will set the ball rolling in Association. The organizing Company Republic of Sports is Seasoned Company and we are sure that Volleyball will be the most loving sport of the City.
Deepak Rathi, Director of Republic of Sports said that the initial research showed that good number of teams exists in the City, with some efforts we can get the traction in the game.
Day 2
City Volleyball Club, D.A.V School Sector - 8, Youth Club & Vision Volleyball Club, Chandigarh reaches into the Semi Final of Pro Volleyball League.
In a day long sporting action, beating the knock out format, City Volleyball Club, D.A.V School Sector - 8, Youth Club & Vision Volleyball Club, Chandigarh stormed into Semi Final of the Pro Volleyball League Chandigarh
Today at the second day Pre quarter final and quarter final were played. In the Quarter Final City Volleyball Club defeated Sector 69 Club in straight two sets with the score 25-22 and 25-22 in a well contested match. In the second Quarter Final D.A.V. Sector 8 beat Palsora Club by score 25-18 and 25-16, In the third Quarter Final Youth Club defeated D.A.V. 8 (B) team in a well contested match with a narrow margin of 25-22 and 25-23. In the last Quarter Final of the day Vision Volleyball Club defeated Vikas Nagar Volleyball Club Mani Majra by score 25-18 and 25-13.
The Semi Final and Final of the League will be played tomorrow along with the Professional Club at Sector 41 B Flood Lit Volleyball Court.
