Chandigarh 25th April 2017 :
The two day bonanza of Classical music and dance organized by Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi concluded with dazzling Kathak Dance performance by Gurgaon based Jayashree Acharya and Group at the Tagore Theatre here today.
                        The program commenced with Akademi chairman Kamal Arora welcoming Chief Guest Vivek Atray, IAS, Director Cultural Affairs Haryana and Guest of honour Suchitra Mitra eminent Bhartya Natyam maestro who also honoured the artists before the dancers took the center stage.
                        Four young dancers led by Jayashree Acharya presented a Bhajan “Jai Madhav Madan Murari” depicting the leelas of Lord Krishna including his in famous stealing of butter as a child and playful flirtations of Gopis. They presented a Tarana in Raag Jog to showcase technical aspects of Luckhnow Gharana Kathak. Guru Jayshree Acharya presented a Thumri “Ah hu na aye” describing 8 types of heroines. Another Thumri “Dekho ri” was presented by 3 dancers before a choreography dance was presented within the format Teen Taal patern. The performance was concluded with a Bhajan in laudation of Shirdi saint. Besides Guru Jayshree Acharya the performance was led by Khusshi Arora, Anandi Ray, Kanchan Kandpal, Nandini Sharma, Gauri Sharma and Jayashree Acharya.
                        While Jainendra AIR Delhi compeered the program CSNA secretary Umesh Kant expressed gratitude to artists and audience.
