Executive Council of Institution for Secretarial Practices & Development(INSPIRE) organized 3rd Webinar on “The Role of Secretaries in Twenty First Century” by Guest Speaker Dr. Nayanika Singh, Assistant Professor, Psychology, Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration, Punjab, Chandigarh, today.    

At the beginning of Webinar, INSPIRE commemorated the “Birth Anniversary, 2021 of Sir Isaac Pitman  The Guru of Pitman Shorthand”.  While welcoming the INSPIRE fraternity to the Webinar, Shri J.N. Bakshi, Advisor & Secretary General presented a Profile of Sir Isaac Pitman, Father of Shorthand and Guru of Pitman Shorthand.   During his presentation, some of salient precision features of "Pitman Shorthand” were also discussed.

Dr. Nayanika Singh, the Guest Speaker, during her presentation deliberated on the role of 'Secretaries' in the 21st Century very comprehensively, also specifying how the role of Secretaries in the present scenario has changed vis-à-vis of traditional time.  She informed that the Secretaries often have to face the fact that their bosses might rely on them for every little thing. She explained how to handle the office pressure by keeping themselves calm and also to meditate as and when they get time. She also focused on qualities of the secretaries like  dressing sense, way of communication, art of turning the problems into solutions etc. She replied the queries of the members very aptly and smartly. She made a conscious attempt to hold the attention of the participants interactively.

Earlier, Shri D.M.S. Bedi, Chairman, INSPIRE while welcoming Dr. Nayanika Singh, shared about her knowledge and qualities with the members. He also informed that, prior to this webinar, Dr. Singh also organized various seminars & webinars and inspired the people with her knowledge and experiences.

A large number of its members participated in the Webinar. Many secretarial professionals from Kerala State also joined the Webinar.
