Jalandhar Dentist is Mrs. Universal 2016 Second Runner Up

Chandigbarh : A Dentist Dr. Jasmine Bhatara from the City won the title of 2nd Runner Up at Mrs. Universal 2016 contest held at Reno, Nevada, USA from 24th July to 28th July.  There were total 66 contestants from all over the world Australia, Russia, U.K., South Africa, Vietnam, U.S.A., North America etc.  In a tough competition she was placed 2rd Runner Up trailing behind U.K. by mere 0.25 points.  After the competition she represented India in India Day Parade in U.S.A. and met various dignitaries.  Indian Consulate in Chicago Mr. Ausaf, Mayor of Bur Ridge.  She visited St. Gilberts Convent and learned the newer techniques of education for proposal to be followed back home in India.  She visited Veterans hospital, senior neighbourhoods and Naval Hospitals and met the residents and the doctors.  She has a vision for the upliftment of the child with basic education and caring of veterans who have no one to support for.  She along with her Mentor Mrs. India Queen of substance work for HCWA (Handicapped Children  and Women Aid) an NGO active since 2004 in Delhi.

          Earlier she won the title of Mrs.India which was held in Delhi on 12th Feb, 2016 at ITC Welcome Hotel, Dwarka.  She competed amongst 40 beauties from all over India.  She was the only one to represent Punjab state.  Along with MRS. INDIA RUNNER UP title she won "The Trendsetter" award too.  In Punjab, Dr. Jasmine Bhatara has worked with an NGO 'PAHAL' in educating the lower strata about basic hygiene techniques and the importance of institutional delivery alongwith.  For the upliftment of girl child and against female foeticide she made aware the people from slums about their rights to ask for basic vaccinations and free medical treatments in Civil Hospitals.

          Dr. Jasmine Bhatara originally belong to Village Sowaddi Kalan in Ludhiana District with a family name TOOR, famously known as HAVELI WALE in her village.  She is married in Jalandhar to         Dr. Amit Bhatara, a dentist too, in BHATARA family of renowned landlords of Jalandhar.  They have a 15 years old son Arnav Bhatara who is in 10th grade in APJ.  He lead his team to NASA in May, 2016 for a conference on space settlement.

          In her leisure time she is fond of music and loves to shop and fond of going for long drives.  On Sundays she loves to cook food for her family and spend quality time with her son.

          She has a vision to work for the upliftment of the underprivileged women and children with special needs.  She idols Sushmita Sen Miss Universe 1994 and in her footsteps wants to work for the girl child and her education.
