Sehar Bajwa, empowering children has become a mission in life

Chandigarh .26th Sept.2016 : For seventeen-year old Sehar Bajwa, empowering
children has become a mission in life, through her organisation that she
has floated, Anmol Shiksha.

Sehar, who is currently pursuing her International Baccalaureate Diploma in
class 12 from the Shri Ram School, Moulsari, Gurgaon, got inspired to
empower the children by providing them essential skill sets, while writing
a research paper on school drop-out rates in Punjab last year.

I was alarmed at the statistics released by UNESCO Institute for Satistics
and Global Education Monitoring Report that 47 million adolescents in India
have not progressed to upper secondary school, and remain unemployable,
Sehar said.

Sehar founded Anmol Shiksha Centre for Learning in Derabassi in Punjab last
year, and today is working with 60 children through voluntary teachers as a
pilot project.

We have devised special curriculum that improves their IQ and EQ levels
covering subjects like moral values, leadership, entrepreneurship and STEM
(hands-on experience in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).

Sehar did her schooling at Welham Girls' School in Dehradun and undertook
couple of undergraduate courses from Harvard University Boston, where she
had the opportunity to work with the underprivileged and
economically-challenged sections of society, as well as working on various
community service projects.

This grave reality of the nation gave Sehar the idea of Anmol Shiksha- *a
disruptive, scalable, plug and play learning platform* that provides easy
access to an organized and relevant, free of cost curriculum, constructed
on four pillars, namely, Moral Values, Leadership, STEM and
Entrepreneurship.
