Chandigarh, 5th November, 2016: The second day of 8th Annual Chandigarh National Crafts Mela , jointly organized by the North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC) and Chandigarh Administration at Kalagram was a talk of the town today. Sh. Sukhchain Singh, IPS, SSP Chandigarh was the chief guest on this occasion today.
The footfall on the second day of the Chandigarh National Crafts Mela was more than the first day with the lovers of art and crafts thronging the Mela. Thousands of Mela enthusiasts marked their presence to savour the colours and flavours of distant corners of the country.
The food lovers savoured the tastes of mouth watering dishes at the food stall which was the main attraction of the Crafts Mela. The musical performance by famous punjabi artist, Roshan Prince was another highlight among the series of events that happened during the day.
On the third day of the much loved Crafts Mela, Strings Fusion Band Group of Ms. Sangeeta Sircar from Mumbai would spread its magic and Folk singer Mohd. Irshad will engage the audience with his soulful performance.
During the 10 days of the Chandigarh National Crafts Mela, celebrated/Star artists will perform daily in the evening at the main stage. Rangoli and Folk Painters’ Camp by renowned artists will be another attraction of this Mela. The youth especially the students will get an opportunity to know about the rich cultural heritage of our country. Many VVIPs/VIPs and other dignitaries from the Government of India are likely to visit the said Mela.
