Panchkula : Haryana government has indulged into chicanery with the farmers who are food growers for the nation. First the lands of these worthy tillers were acquired and to add fuel to fire, these honest farmers were not given their rightful due compensation.
Getting afflicted with this twin board from the blue the farmers stage a sit-up agitation in front of HSIDC office in Panchkula. The express and legitimate demands of the farmers is that as per the directions of court , they should be paid Rupees 30 lacs per acre as compensation some of money.
According to the leader of farmers Sh. Fateh Singh, a total of 259 acre lands were acquired by Haryana Govt. via HSIDC. Despite acquisition the due compensation as not been paid to the land tillers. Consequently these farmers have been forced to undertake this agitation on the roads. He further averred that the notice was issued by the then Haryana Govt. in 2007. In the year 2009 the compensation amount was fixed at 08 lacs per acre. As a sequel to this the farmers were forced to knock at the doors of judiciary. In the April 2015, the court decided to that rupees 30 lacs per acre be paid to the farmers. The cumulative amount comes to around Rs. 180 crores. It is now about 20 months that the Haryana Govt. is dilly dialing on the issue.
The Chairman of Bhartiya Kissan Union Sh. Gurnam Singh Chanduni stated that for the last few days farmer have been protesting at Vill. Manapur in this regard but govt. is unrelenting. The top officials of the govt. only gave false assurances. It was further stated that some lands was unacquired in village Manakpur and after acquiring it the Haryana govt. gave Rs. 40 lacs per acre as compensation. This is clear evidences that the Haryana govt. is adopting a due and specious policy in this regard.
